Anne Forster advises on
eLearning, entrepreneurial education and the international
education industry. Her current research is the impact of
entrepreneurial higher education on academic identity and the
transformative role of mediation in negotiating effective
outcomes in team bas ed projects. She is Adjunct Associate
Professor with the online Master of Distance Education, UMUC,
teaching DEPM 622, The Business of DE and co-teaching DEPM609,
Systems Thinking in DE.
A past president of the
Open and Distance Learning Association of Australia, Anne has
worked for over thirty years as an academic and manager
developing innovative and technology enhanced education. Her
career, which began in England at the UKOU, has been located
in Australia and Canada and is now virtual, based in Sydney
Australia. In Australia Anne directed post graduate programs
in Distance Education and an Executive MBA. She was founding
director of the Innovation and Technology in Education Unit at
the University of Sydney and Assistant Director of Executive
Education at Bond University. She has worked as a senior
manager with KPMG consulting and was Vice President of NextEd
Ltd a global integrated services provider for higher
education.
Anne's North American
clients included the Getty Centre for the Arts, the
Commonwealth of Learning, the Inuit Broadcasting Corporation,
the Telelearning Network of Centres of Excellence and the
Canadian Federal Government. She is the author of Learning at
a Distance, a core module of the Certificate of Professional
Development in Distance Education offered by the University of
Wisconsin, Madison.
Anne is a member of the
Editorial Board of the Canadian Journal of Distance Education
and has herself published widely. She has consulted on
education projects in Europe, the South Pacific, South Africa
and South East Asia.
